The Commissions Tab Is Your Right Now
The CFO Center is your past and your future. The Commissions tab is your right now: this week, this month, last month, and one click to the exact statement rows, and clients, behind every number.
There are two questions an agent asks about commission, and they are not the same question. One is how is the book doing — what did we earn over the year, which carrier went quiet, what is all of this worth. The other is what just landed — this week, this month, and who exactly paid me. AgencyView now answers them on two different screens, on purpose. The CFO Center is your past and your future. The Commissions tab is your right now. This post is about the second one, which changed today. Three boxes and thirteen bars Open Commissions and the earnings strip at the top now reads This week , This month and Last month , with one bar for each of the last thirteen weeks. It counts by the date on the statement, net of chargebacks, straight from the commission statements your tracking service synced overnight. Nothing is estimated and nothing is re-derived. Two things to expect, because they surprise people: Most weeks show $0. Carriers date their statements on the first of the month, so the week that statement lands carries nearly the whole month and the weeks around it are genuinely empty. An empty week is drawn as an explicit $0, never as a gap. This week is often small or zero mid-month. That is not a bug. It is the honest answer to "what landed since Sunday." Every number is a button This is the part that changes how you use the page. Click any box or any week bar and the statement rows that make up that number open underneath — one line per policy, grouped by client, with the carrier, plan, policy number, action, statement date and amount. Click the same box again to close it. Click This week You get the rows dated since Sunday. Mid-month that is usually a handful of off-cycle payments — a dental renewal, a life policy's first-year commission — and on the first of the month it is the whole statement. Click This month You get everything dated this calendar month, with a comparison to last month in the box itself. The header of the open panel tells you the total, how many statement rows made it up, and how many clients those rows belong to. Click Last month The full picture of the month that just closed. On a book of a few hundred policies this is a few hundred rows — the panel scrolls, the client headers stay readable, and each client shows a subtotal. Click a week bar The same panel, for just that week. Useful when a bar is taller or shorter than you expected and you want to know why. Who, not just how much Each client in the list is a link. Click the name and their record opens in the CRM, so "who is this and what else do they have with us" is one click, not a search. Someone the statement paid you on who is not in the CRM is marked not in CRM , and they are already waiting for you in the ghost-clients queue further down the same page, with the policy pre-filled from the statement. Two filters that earn their place First-time payers A client whose policy has never appeared on a statement before is marked First payment . That is new business that just effectuated and paid — the positive mirror of the never-paid alert. The First-time payers filter shows only those clients, which makes it a ready-made welcome-call list for the week the statement lands. Chargebacks A chargeback sits under the same client as the payment it reverses, in red. The Chargebacks filter shows only the clients that were clawed back this period. Nothing is hidden, nothing is shown as a positive number, and the client's subtotal is the net of the two. What moved out of the way The Agency Commission Management section that used to sit below the strip — LOA configuration, AI reconciliation, statement templates — has been retired. Statement processing is handled by your connected commission tracking service, and keeping a second set of tools here only duplicated it. The Commissions tab is now the strip, the drill-down, and the ghost-clients queue. Sub-agency admins, who previously saw only the link to the tracking workspace, now get the strip and the drill-down on their own book, the same as agency admins and independent agents. Where the line is Everything on the Commissions tab is row level and current : this week, this month, last month, and the exact lines behind them. Totals by carrier, per agent, month over month, what is owed, what stopped paying, what the book is worth — that is the CFO Center , and it reads the same synced statements. The two are meant to be opened for different reasons, and now they look like it. The full list of what changed is on the changelog . If your agency has not connected commission tracking yet, the strip will tell you where to do that in Settings; the figures appear after the first overnight sync.
