AgencyView and HealthSherpa: Quote and Enroll From the Client Record
HealthSherpa is the enrollment platform AgencyView is built on, not a competitor. Here is what HealthSherpa does in its own words, how AgencyView connects to its ACA and Medicare APIs, and what AgencyView adds around the application: the record, the commission, the compliance file.
This one is different from our other comparisons, because HealthSherpa is not a competitor we are trying to replace. It is the enrollment platform AgencyView is built on. When an agent presses Quote on a contact in AgencyView, HealthSherpa returns the plans. When they select one, HealthSherpa takes the application. So the honest question is not "which one should I use?" It is "what does HealthSherpa do, what does AgencyView add around it, and why did we choose to connect rather than compete?" The formal announcement of the integration is in the AgencyView newsroom . This is the plain-English version for agents and agency owners. Every HealthSherpa claim below is quoted from healthsherpa.com, medicare.healthsherpa.com or HealthSherpa's own help center, as read on September 7, 2026, with a link. What HealthSherpa is, in its own words HealthSherpa calls itself the " 1 ACA Quoting and Enrollment Platform" : 45,000 agents, 4,800 agencies, 10 million lives, $71 billion in premiums, "the largest ACA enrollment platform since 2013." It is "completely free" for agents and agencies because "insurance carriers pay us a fee." Its features page promises a "7 minute EDE application" and a "5 minute EDE renewal" against 15 minutes on healthcare.gov, "Full Healthcare.gov sync," pre-filled renewal applications, help with 1095 forms and document reminders, and "fraud prevention, AOR protections, and CMS compliance." On the Medicare side, HealthSherpa Medicare is "the all-in-one Medicare platform for brokers": FMO neutral, multi-carrier, no cost, "trusted by 50,000 brokers." Agents can "shop MAPD, MA, Part D, Supp and SNPs," check drug and provider costs per plan, enroll with "text, email, and voice signature," and "view all contacts in one easy CRM." That is a lot of platform for free, and it is why we did not build our own enrollment path. Nobody should re-implement Healthcare.gov EDE to sell a CRM. How AgencyView connects to it AgencyView connects through HealthSherpa's ACA API and its Medicare partner API. Two connections, both managed by the agency admin and shared with the whole team, so an agent never pastes a key or logs in twice. ACA. Open a contact, press Quote. The household is prefilled from the record; ZIP, county, income and any additional applicants are entered once. HealthSherpa returns the plans with the subsidy applied. On-exchange and off-exchange are one toggle. Enrollment. Select a plan and AgencyView writes a pending policy to the contact, sets a follow-up task for the carrier-issued number, and either continues the enrollment on HealthSherpa with the applicant loaded, or generates a client link with that plan pre-selected. Off-exchange plans start a draft enrollment through the API. Status. Application and policy status sync back from HealthSherpa into Policy Status Queues, so pending, effectuated and terminated cases are visible without leaving the record. Medicare. Contacts who are 65 or older, turning 65 within nine months, or already on an MAPD, MA or PDP plan are synced to HealthSherpa Medicare automatically with a quoting link written back to the record. An enrollment submitted on HealthSherpa returns to AgencyView as a policy on the right contact. What AgencyView adds around it HealthSherpa's pages describe an ACA and Medicare enrollment platform with client tracking for those enrollments. An agency is more than its ACA book. Here is what lives in AgencyView that HealthSherpa's pages do not describe. Need HealthSherpa (per its pages) AgencyView Quoting and enrollment ACA on-exchange EDE; Medicare MAPD, MA, PDP, Supp, SNP Uses HealthSherpa for both, from the contact record, plus off-exchange draft enrollment through the API Client record "All ACA clients and leads in one place"; Medicare contacts "in one easy CRM" One record for every line: ACA, Medicare, life, dental and vision, P&C, with household members, providers, medications and health conditions linked Commissions Not on its pages Statements mirrored nightly; lapse, never-paid and chargeback alerts; Commission History on every contact Agency finance Not on its pages CFO Center: what you really earned, which carriers went quiet, receivables, clawback exposure, book valuation, tax set-aside HIPAA program Compliance with 45 CFR §155.220 and §155.260 ( source ) Compliance Center: AgencyView's BAA sent and followed up, a vendor BAA register, training records, audit logs, denied-access logging, reports Intake Enrollment application and renewal forms Survey builder with Medicare and ACA intake; a submission becomes a contact, a PDF, a note, a tag and an opportunity Phones Not on its pages RingCentral: screen pop, recordings, transcription, coaching, supervision; or Twilio-powered calling and texting through the CRM Price Free; carriers pay From $159 per month, 14-day free trial ( pricing ) The parts in detail Commissions and the CFO Center An enrollment is not income until a carrier pays on it. AgencyView mirrors your commission statements every night, flags policies the carrier stopped paying on or never started, and raises chargeback alerts. The CFO Center turns that ledger into the owner's questions: what did I really earn, which carriers went quiet, what am I owed, what is the book worth. The HIPAA Compliance Center HealthSherpa's pages speak to the federal marketplace privacy standards it operates under. Your agency's own HIPAA program is separate: the BAAs you hold, the training your staff completed, the access log you can show an auditor. The Compliance Center sends you AgencyView's BAA and follows up until it is signed, keeps a register of your vendor BAAs, keeps training records, logs every denied access automatically, and produces reports scoped to your agency and downline. Surveys, medications and health conditions HealthSherpa Medicare lets agents "save drugs and providers to contact profiles." AgencyView stores medications, providers and health conditions as linked records on the contact, carries the providers into the ACA quote's care team, and checks the conditions against final expense carrier rules. Phones Agencies on RingCentral get screen pop, recordings on the contact, transcription and scoring for the Call Coaching dashboard, and a Call Wall with listen, whisper and barge. Everyone else gets calling and texting inside the integrated CRM, which runs on Twilio. Why connect instead of compete HealthSherpa is free, carrier-funded and synced to Healthcare.gov. Building a second one would cost our customers money and gain them nothing. What agencies were missing was everything on either side of the application: the lead before it, and the policy, the commission and the compliance file after it. That is what AgencyView is. From Lead to Quote to Enroll , with HealthSherpa doing the enrolling, and then Paid. If you already use HealthSherpa, you keep it. Connect it in Settings, share it with your team, and quote from the contact tomorrow. The technical details of the integration, including how keys and tokens are handled, are in the announcement .
