AgencyView vs. Agent CRM: From Lead to Quote to Enroll on One Platform
Agent CRM is a follow-up system. AgencyView is the whole job: HealthSherpa ACA and Medicare enrollment from the client record, commission tracking that reads your statements, a CFO Center, a HIPAA Compliance Center, built-in Medicare and ACA intake surveys, medications and health conditions on the client, and RingCentral or Twilio phones.
Agents ask us this one a lot: "We're on Agent CRM. What would actually change if we moved to AgencyView?" It is a fair question, because on the surface the two look alike. Both are built for health, Medicare and life agents. Both come with a CRM, pipelines, texting and automations. The difference is what happens after the lead says yes. Agent CRM is a marketing and follow-up system. AgencyView is the whole job: from lead, to quote, to enrolled, to paid, to audit-ready, on one platform. This post walks through the seven places where that difference shows up day to day, using screens from our demo agency. Where we describe Agent CRM, we quote its own website and help articles, with links, so you can check us. If your only problem is follow-up, it may be enough. Most agencies we talk to have a different problem. They are already writing business, and the money and the paperwork are what they cannot see. 1. Commission tracking that reads your statements AgencyView connects to your commission tracking account and mirrors every statement, every night. From there it does the work an admin normally does by hand: Monthly earnings on the Commissions page, straight from the statements, newest month first. Lapse and never-paid detectors that flag a policy the carrier stopped paying on, or never started. Chargeback alerts every night, so a clawback shows up as work to do, not as a surprise on the next statement. Split levels for direct agents, overrides and agency retention, per carrier and per agent, with a validation step before anything is paid out. A Commission History tab on every contact, so the person on the phone can see what that client's policies have paid. Agent CRM's own help center says it "doesn't currently offer a dedicated commissions tracking feature" and recommends opportunity values, tags and "manual commission calculations" instead. That is a spreadsheet with extra steps. 2. The CFO Center Once the statements are in, the CFO Center turns them into the views a finance person would build for you. Seven tabs over one ledger: What you really earned , measured against the last statement that actually loaded, not a blank month. Which carriers went quiet , and how many clients they were paying on when they stopped. Receivables and clawback exposure : what you are owed and what could still be taken back. Retention by cohort, growth by season, a monthly close , and a planning tab with book valuation and a quarterly tax set-aside. Agency admins see the whole agency. Sub-agency admins see their downline. Independent agents see their own book. We could not find anything like this on Agent CRM's public pages. 3. The HIPAA Compliance Center Both platforms will sign a Business Associate Agreement with you. The difference is what happens after. Agent CRM's HIPAA page is clear that the customer still has to "control who has access to what and train your team." AgencyView gives you the tools to actually do that, and to prove it: BAA Documents and Contracts : send a BAA to a vendor or downline, chase it automatically on day 3 and day 5, and keep the executed copy with who signed. Training records per team member, with completion dates. Audit logs of who saw what, including every denied access attempt, recorded automatically. Reports you can hand to an auditor, scoped to your agency and downline. Sensitive identifiers such as SSNs and Medicare numbers sit behind a per-agency password on the contact record. 4. HealthSherpa ACA: quote and enroll from the contact This is the one that changes an agent's afternoon. Open a contact, press Quote, and the household is already filled in from the record. Look up the ZIP, add anyone else on the plan, enter income, and AgencyView asks HealthSherpa for the plans. Every plan shows the subsidy, the deductible, copays and a link to the Summary of Benefits. Switch between on-exchange and off-exchange without re-entering anything. Providers the family wants to keep are saved to the contact's care team. Select a plan and three things happen at once: A pending policy is written to the contact with the plan, carrier and premium. A follow-up task is set for five days after the effective date to enter the carrier-issued policy number. You continue the enrollment on HealthSherpa with the applicant already loaded, or send the client a link with that plan pre-selected so they can enroll themselves. Off-exchange plans can be submitted directly through the API. After enrollment, application and policy status sync back from HealthSherpa, so the Policy Status Queues show you what is pending, effectuated or terminated without logging in to another site. One agency admin can share the HealthSherpa connection with the whole team. Agent CRM's HealthSherpa integration is Medicare-only, per its announcement. We could not find an ACA integration on its pages. 5. HealthSherpa Medicare The Medicare side connects with a real OAuth login, not a pasted key, and then runs on its own: Contacts who are 65 or older, turning 65 within nine months, or already on an MAPD, MA or PDP plan are synced to HealthSherpa Medicare automatically , with a quoting link written back to the contact. A daily sweep catches anyone who became eligible since yesterday, and a monthly turning-65 report lists who is coming up. When an enrollment is submitted on HealthSherpa , it comes back into AgencyView as a policy on the right contact, with a note. Agent CRM's version does the first part: contacts sync and a quoting link per contact. The submissions coming back as policies is the part that keeps your book accurate. 6. Built-in surveys for Medicare and ACA You can build any intake form you like, but the ones agencies use most are already there: a Medicare enrollment intake, an ACA household application, a quote request and a Scope of Appointment. The builder has sections, conditional logic, branding, and a CRM tab that decides which pipeline and stage a submission opens. What makes it different from a form builder is what a submission does. When a client finishes a survey: The contact is matched or created (a survey you emailed to a specific client binds to that client; a public link matches on email, phone, then name and date of birth). A PDF of the completed form is filed under the contact's Forms and Consent. A note, a line-of-business tag and an opportunity are written, and the agent gets an alert to review it.
